經濟學人新出的英國大學排名。
比較特別的是，這份排名是根據「預期所得」以及「實際所得」的差距所排出來。也就是
說學校對學生的附加價值。
*「預期所得」及「實際所得」皆為畢業五年後的薪資中位數。
在經濟學人的模型中，LSE的預期所得(￡46,559)跟實際所得(￡45,950)都是最高的。
但因為實際所得比預期所得還少，排名只有73。話說我的收入完全拉低了母校平均。
這樣的排名下，因為預期薪資本來就高，因此傳統名校會比較吃虧。最慘的是St.
Andrews，實際所得比預期所得低了將近￡5,000，在這份排名殿後。

哪所大學最好?大多數公布的排名，告知你這些機構的聲譽，或研究人員在頂尖學術期刊
上發表的頻率。然而，這些排名並不一定能回答未來學生所真正關心的問題：進入這間學
校能獲得甚麼。比如說，倫敦經濟學院的畢業生，在就業市場上的好表現，也許是因為那
所學校的優良教學。但也有可能，他們能賺那麼多是因為他們有個光明的開始，或因為他
們傾向於選擇有利就業市場的課程。
為了計算哪間大學能對學生產生最大的正面效果，我們建立了一個統計模型，估計每所大
學畢業生的未來收入。計算方式基於幾項因素：大學如何選擇學生、學生的主修、來自低
收入地區的學生人數、二十歲以後入學的學生人數、在進入這所學校前，學生念私立學校
的比例、以及學校的所在地。然後，我們將預期收入與實際數字進行比較。我們認為這個
差異，能衡量學校的附加價值。
下表顯示了排名結果。我們把各學校的實際、預估收入並列，用兩個之間的差額來排名。
