1973年次的「朗神」鈴木一朗已年過不惑，而身為自由球員的他最新接受MLB Network訪
問內容中明白透露還沒有退休的打算：「對於下季繼續在MLB戰場奔馳的念頭，我仍躍躍
欲試。」
“I have every intention of playing in the Major Leagues next year,”
「我明年會在何處打球、披著哪支球隊的戰袍？我無法告訴你，因為棒球不是項個人運動
，事態發展不是只取決於我的感覺、我想打球一廂情願而已，總得有球隊願意給我機會才
行，但無論如何我對於持續待在球場上是充滿企圖心的。」
“Where will that be? I cannot tell you because baseball is not an
individual sport and so it’s not just up to my feeling that I want to play.
Somebody has to feel that they want to give me the opportunity to play. But I
have every intention of playing.”
談到「紐約隊長」Derek Jeter的退休之旅，一朗如此表示：「Jeter之於我永生難忘的一
幕是他的洋基主場告別戰，那天所有畫面將無比清晰地伴隨我的餘生。」
One thing that I will never forget about Jeter that will be with me for the
rest of my life is the scene of his last game at Yankee Stadium,”
「比賽伊始，我在右外野見證Jeter前往屬於他的守備崗位，這毫無疑問是場情緒性高昂
的比賽、相當情緒性的時刻，看著這一切真實發生、體驗它，彷彿我的淚水就要奪眶而出
似的，我明白對於他本人（Jeter）來說絕對也有相同感受，可是你卻不會察覺任何跡象
，我從他臉上看不到淚痕，大家都知道這場比賽對他的重大意義，但他亦沒有明顯的激動
表現…我當時很想知道『是怎樣的情緒控制能力讓他可以做到這種程度？』對滿場球迷隱
藏內心澎湃的一面何其困難？他究竟是如何辦到的？這絕對會是在我的往後生活不時被喚
起的記憶。」
“To see him take the field in the first inning, go to his position — and I
was in right field — it was just such an emotional game, such an emotional
moment, and I felt, in right field, watching him, experiencing it, I felt
like it was going to bring me to tears. And I knew that it had to be so
emotional for him, but you never felt that. I never saw the tears, I never
sensed that it was as emotional as it was for him as I knew it had to be. And
I just wondered, ‘How does he have the ability to control his emotions to
that degree? How does he have the ability to not show that side of him to all
of these people?’ That’s something that will be with me for the rest of my
life.”
比起Jeter的光輝榮退，一朗選擇繼續燃燒球員生涯末期的「老邁身軀」，為個人紀錄和
冠軍戒打拚，可說是「老兵不死、亦不凋零」的寫照。
儘管近兩季的OPS+都未超過100，但現在的一朗依然能夠勝任球隊的四號外野，本季有1轟
、15盜以及0.284/0.324/0.340的打擊三圍。「3000安/500盜」的里程碑也還存在一線希
望（目前2844安、487盜），祝福他吧！
