BREAKING: Blue Jays Designate Veteran Outfielder for Assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays made a huge roster move on Monday, as they've designat
ed veteran outfielder Nori Aoki for assignment and recalled right-handed pitch
er Leonel Campos from Triple-A Buffalo.
The Blue Jays acquired Aoki from the Houston Astros at the deadline for vetera
n left-hander Francisco Liriano. Aoki has done nice work for the Blue Jays, as
he's slashed .281/.294/.594 with three home runs and eight RBI, but they are
quickly moving on from the 35-year-old
Overall this season, Aoki is slashing .274/.319/.402 with five home runs and 2
7 RBI over 258 plate appearances.
Campos, 29, has appeared in the big leagues with the Blue Jays this season, ap
pearing in nine games and posting a 3.38 ERA. He's been really good down on th
e farm and between two levels he's posted a 1.99 ERA over 25 games.
