The Mets placed deGrom on the 10-day injured list, shut him down from throwing,
and sent him to New York after he reported tightness in his right forearm on Jul
16. He began playing catch five days later, then threw off a mound for the first
time on July 25. The pertinent question is whether deGrom, who hasn’t pitched i
a game since July 7, will require a Minor League rehab assignment. “We can say
