Pirates' Hoy Park: Sent down amid slump
Park was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Park struggled mightily at the plate recently, as he went 0-for-20 with a
walk and seven strikeouts across his last seven appearances. The 25-year-old
had hit .300 with a homer and four doubles across his first 11 games after he
was called up at the beginning of August, and he'll attempt to right the ship
with the minor-league club. His demotion will make room for Anthony Alford
(back), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.
