紅襪隊先發投手羅德里奎茲（Eduardo Rodriguez）在12日（台北時間），面對光芒隊美
杜斯(Austin Meadows)，花了17球才用三振解決，創下美國職棒季後賽單一打席用球數最
多的紀錄。
羅德里奎茲在三局上面對首名打者美杜斯，先讓他打出連續3個界外球，再來連3顆壞球變
成2好3壞滿球數。
美杜斯接下來連續打出10個界外球，不管是滑球、伸卡球、四縫線速球或是變速球，來到
第17球，羅德里奎茲用81.7英里的滑球，讓美杜斯揮空三振。
這一個投打對決用了17顆球，締造1988年開始有紀錄用球數以來，美國大聯盟季後賽的單
一打席最多球數紀錄。
之前的紀錄是2004年美聯冠軍戰，喬恩李伯（Jon Lieber）面對紅襪隊戴蒙（Johnny
Damon）花了16球。
