Andrelton Simmons Released By The Cubs
Chicago Cubs shortstop Andrelton Simmons was granted his unconditional release
on Sunday after being designated for assignment on Saturday. The 32-year-old
could never really get going this year, posting an ugly .173/.244/.187
batting line to go along with seven RBI and four stolen bases over 75 at-bats
with the Cubbies. There's a chance another club signs him down the stretch
but he doesn't offer any fantasy value at this stage of his career.
