Kim recently added initials to the back of his jersey. The new look: “H.S. Kim.
” The purpose, Kim explained, was to set himself apart as one owner of the most
common last name in South Korea. Other Korean-born major leaguers have included
Byung-hyun Kim, Hyun-soo Kim, Kwang-hyun Kim and Sun-woo Kim.
