On Monday, the minor league team announced their new identity as the Las Vegas G
amblers, competing with the alternate name for one night only on Saturday, April
20 when they face the Tacoma Rainiers at the Las Vegas Ballpark.
The new black and gold logo features snake eyes on dice, which represents the ye
ar 1911 when the City of Las Vegas was incorporated, as well as belt buckles and
boots which take attributes of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
According to the Aviators, the name pays homage to the city's rich history of ex
plorers, railroads, mobsters, resorts, military, and entertainers.
