Tanzania National Baseball League to open on 4 May
The regular season will run through 28 September. The Placement Round and the Fi
nals are scheduled in December.
The second edition of the Tanzania National Baseball League (TNBL) is scheduled
to start on Saturday, 4 May. The defending champions Tigers will face the Dragon
s, their fiercest rivals in the inaugural season.
The Fighters and the Giants complete the participants in the four-team league. E
ach team will compete in an 18-game regular season through 29 September.
A Placement Round with a page-system format will follow. The round will start wi
th the top two finishers (Game 1) and the third-place and fourth-place teams (Ga
me 2) facing each other. The Game 2 winner will play the Game 1 loser, with the
winner facing the Game 1 winner in the final.
"We are excited to showcase the talent and enthusiasm of our players and to witn
ess the growth of baseball in Tanzania," commented Abubakary Nachiwa, the TNBL C
EO.

the 11th Baseball and the seventh Softball Koshien tournament for secondary scho
ols.
Five baseball and three softball teams with a total of approximately 200 players
participated in the tournaments.
