Clarke-Salter signs new contract
Fri 14 Jul 2017
Academy defender Jake Clarke-Salter has signed a new four-year contract at
the club.
The 19-year-old made his first team debut under Guus Hiddink in a victory
at Aston Villa in April 2016 a few weeks before he picked up a third FA
Youth Cup winner's medal - a feat matched by only six other players in
history, including his Chelsea team-mate Jay Dasilva.
Since joining Chelsea as an Under-9, Clarke-Salter has also won the UEFA
Youth League twice. He spent last season on loan at League One side
Bristol Rovers where he impressed during a season disrupted by injury.
A regular at youth international level, Clarke-Salter played an important
role earlier this summer as England won the Under-20 World Cup in South
Korea.
