Southgate reveals how Chelsea wonderkid Mason Mount could get England
call-up in 'six months'

Gareth Southgate believes Chelsea wonderkid Mason Mount is one of several
England youngsters that could break into the senior international side in
potentially 'six months' if they get the 'right pathway'.

"We of course know about all of these young players, [Ryan] Sessegnon,
[Jadon] Sancho, [Phil] Foden, Mason Mount, there are some super young
players coming through," Southgate said in his World Cup squad press
launch.

"But again the hurdles to overcome to really being in that position of
someone like Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek], who for me
have fulfilled lots of those steps. They are playing regularly in the
Premier League, they are playing regularly in matches and are performing
well. They have been in and around our squad.

"The other guys, to allow them to succeed, and for their own development
it is just as important as it is for us as a team. And I don't think that

they are better than the players we have got. But that could happen in
next six, 12, 18 months depending on their individual pathways."
