切爾西舊將穆圖曾在2004年因吸食可卡因而被國際足聯禁賽七個月，隨後俱樂部
與他解除了合約。經過了幾輪官司之後，最終國際體育仲裁法庭 (Court of
Arbitration for Sport) 裁定穆圖需要對切爾西支付高達1520萬英鎊的違約金作為
賠償。
對此，穆圖感到不服，他認為，國際體育仲裁法庭中有一位律師與切爾西老闆阿
布拉莫維奇之間的關係很好，因此裁定結果並非公正。於是，穆圖案件提交給歐洲人
權法庭 (European Court of Human Rights)，試圖推翻國際足聯先前做出的決定。
如今，歐洲人權法庭駁回穆圖的上訴，法院認為穆圖這些指控並沒有實質性的證據。
Mutu signed for the Blues from Parma for ￡15.8m in August 2003, but he
after a good start he fell out with manager Claudio Ranieri, and then did
the same with his successor Jose Mourinho.
The ￡15.2m fine fee was initially set by FIFA in 2008, based on the
length of Mutu's contract and loss of earnings.
He joined Livorno and then Juventus when his ban ended in 2005, but tested
positive for an appetite suppressant when at Fiorentina in 2010. He
retired from football in 2016.
