Kurt Zouma has agreed personal terms with West Ham United ahead of a €30
million (£25.8 million) transfer from Chelsea, with a medical now taking
place in Paris.
The 26-year-old centre-back has been the subject of prolonged interest
from West Ham. Zouma has agreed a five-year contract with the east London
club, who have started their season with two wins and sit top of the
Premier League. The results of the scans from Zouma's medical will take a
while to arrive.
Zouma was keen to stay in London and has got his wish. It was understood
the proposed deal was in danger of not being completed at one stage as
there was a sticking point over personal terms. However, that issue has
now been resolved.
The Athletic reported on Monday that the France defender was seeking a
significant salary increase from what he is earning at Stamford Bridge to
about £125,000 per week, which would make him comfortably the
highest-paid player in David Moyes's squad.
