Some of Roman Abramovich's associates, including long time Chelsea board
member Eugene Tenenbaum, have been sanctioned. In the case of Tenenbaum,
it represents a spanner in the works on the decision making process at
Chelsea because he has a say on who the new owner would be.
Statement explains why Chelsea board member Eugene Tenenbaum is
sanctioned: "Corporate filings show that Tenenbaum took control of
Evrington Investments Limited, an Abramovich-linked investment company, on
24 February immediately following Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine."
I'm told Eugene Tenenbaum's sanctioning won't have any real impact on the
sale of Chelsea which is good news for all involved in the process.
