Azpilicueta reveals what he said to fan after Arsenal match

Cesar Azpilicueta has explained what was said between him and the fan he
was in coversation with after our recent home defeat to Arsenal, as well
as also revealing that he presented the same supporter with his captain's
armband against West Ham.

The Chelsea skipper was seen to be in discussion with one supporter in the
West Stand after we suffered a third straight home defeat last Wednesday,
with the Gunners running out 4-2 victors.
Azpi says his disappointment over both the team's performance and his own
individual outing contributed to his frustrations post-match. The Spaniard
was adjudged to have brought down Bukayo Saka in the penalty area by
referee Jon Moss in the remaining minutes of the match, and Azpi says this
accentuated his feelings after the full-time whistle.
'It looked worse than it was, I agree with that, because it was at the end
of the game and I was angry with my performance, the result, the penalty
and everything else. I spotted him in the crowd but it was nothing
personal with him,' Azpi says.
'It was just an exchange of words and it looked worse than it was. We
spoke clearly and he said that he wanted to see more fight from the team,
and he was right.

Cesar has been in high spirits at Cobham this week
'I expressed my view of that in this moment everybody was having a moment
of difficulty, we were having less people in the stadium. We were in a
moment of difficulty and we needed to push altogether in the same
direction,' he adds.
Chelsea bounced back in another London derby just days later with a 90th
minute winner against West Ham and Azpilicueta reveals he made up with the
fan post-match by offering him his armband.
'The other day after the game I saw him again, I gave him the captain's
armband,' added Cesar. 'When there is respect and I'm the first to look at
the images, it's not really me, I was really angry.'
