Matchday skipper Conor Gallagher was delighted to see the Blues secure our
place in the final four of the Carabao Cup with an important victory over
Newcastle on penalties.

He said: ‘I’m buzzing. That was a really good performance. We were battling

‘I felt we deserved to win the game and obviously everyone is happy. We just
had to keep going which we did.

‘We had a lot of the ball, a lot of possession and we just had to keep
creating the chances which we did and eventually we got one in. It was really

Heading into the shootout, Gallagher admits that he felt positive after
scoring such a late goal with the momentum clearly with the Blues.

‘I think we felt confident,’ he continued.

The midfielder also acknowledged how important the victory will be for the

everything we can to go through to the final now.’
