Hezbollah claimed the attack, saying they had destroyed an Israeli army vehicle and "killed and wounded those inside".
Israeli state media reported however that the soldiers managed to get out before the missile hit.
The Israeli army responded with tank fire and ordered residents near the border with Lebanon to remain inside.
The incident comes just days after Hezbollah leaderassan Nasrallahpromised to respond to an apparent Israeli drone attack last week, which damaged the group's media centre in Beirut.
