I want to change the status of representative people by transforming them
into the icons of a fictional and indeterminate religion, so in a sacred
object. In most of my paintings, there are blessing and curse at the same
time. The results can be morbid and disgusting but always fascinating.
That’s because at that moment, these people are no more ordinary people.
They are nearly gods.”
目前定居台灣的西班牙籍藝術家Daniel Arroyo (艾丹)，將於充滿藝術氣息的文化大城
台南舉辦第一次台灣個展。受到西方藝術教育養成，風格寫實卻又增添魔幻迥異元素，
透過這些看起來特異、超乎常理的圖像，藝術家艾丹試圖刺激觀眾的感官，創造觀眾與
影像對話的可能。創作素材來自藝術家的生活周遭，透過繪畫及創作，重新詮釋了藝術
家對於現實的觀察與體認，艾丹的作品中採用大量陌生人的形象，加上亞洲藝術文化對
其創作產生之文化衝擊，這些宗教符號如何與觀者產生關係，又呈現出什麼樣永恆且神
聖的氛圍，是此個展中冀望探詢的主題。
