Draymond Green made the emergency cross-country flight late Wednesday night,
zipping from New York City to the Bay Area for the birth of his son.
He missed the Warriors game in Brooklyn on Thursday night and his status, per
Steve Kerr, was unknown for the rest of Golden State’s road trip.
But it seems it’ll be a short absence. Late Thursday night, Green sent out a
Snapchat video on his account walking toward a private jet on the Oakland
airport runway. Green captioned the video with the words ‘Wheels up to the
mitten,’ and said to the camera ‘Back to the grind.’
The mitten is in reference to the shape of Michigan, Green’s home state. The
Warriors are facing the Pistons in Detroit (actually Auburn Hills, Michigan)
on Friday night. Green is expected to get back in time to play.
“I know he doesn’t want to miss that one,” Kerr said.
