The Warriors and Quinn Cook have had “serious discussions” regarding a
two-year deal that would ensure both a spot on a playoff roster and for the
2018-2019 season, league sources confirmed to The Bay Area News Group.

next Tuesday to sign Cook to their playoff roster. And they do not plan to do
so until then in case an unforeseen circumstance happens, including another
injury to Cook or any other player.

Nonetheless, the Warriors and Cook’s representatives have talked about terms
regarding a two-year deal. Following the Warriors’ 111-107 victory over the
Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr indirectly
confirmed the team’s plans to have Cook on its playoff roster.
Since Warriors guard Stephen Curry had overlapping injuries this past month
to his right ankle and his left knee, Cook has averaged 16.15 points on 52.2
percent shooting and 4.15 assists in 33.69 minutes per game in the past 13
contests. Kerr has said Curry will not play in the first round of the
playoffs.
With the Warriors currently planning to add Cook to their 15-man roster by
April 10, they will have to release someone currently on it. Although the
Warriors have not finalized any decisions, a likely candidate is Omri Casspi
because of his persistent injuries, inconsistent play and veteran’s minimum
deal.
