The Warriors’ veteran sat with his locker with a wide smile on Thursday.
And why not? He and his wife just celebrated the birth of their second daughter,
Celine, on Wednesday.
“She’s a beautiful healthy little girl and my wife is doing well,”
Jerebko said. “I’m blessed to be doing what I’m doing and be back
at work again. It’s been a little weird, but it’s been awesome.”
The Warriors excused Jerebko to return to the Bay Arean in the middle of
their five-game trip last week. As the Warriors flew from Los Angeles to
Washington on Jan. 23, Jerebko flew back to Oakland to await his wife
expecting. Jerebko watched the Warriors collect wins from afar in Washington,
Boston and Indiana.
Jerebko then returned to the Warriors for morning shootaround on Thursday.
He was a healthy scratch against Philadelphia.
“The organization is top notch. They wanted me to be there when she was
born. I appreciate that,” Jerebko said. “The support from anybody on the
staff to the players have been great. I’m happy to be back. I felt like I
was on an early All-Star break.”
Not quite. Jerebko hardly slept for the past week.
It’s all good,” Jerebko said. “I’ll get my sleep when I can.”
