: the island from an attack by its much bigger neighbor. Ko, 59, said Taiwan nee

: cracy and economic transparency.

自從柯文哲以無黨籍身分贏得2014年的台北市長選舉以來，這種直白的評論風格，使他成
為台灣最受歡迎的政治人物。如果他在11月24日的地方選舉再次連任，將使他成為下任總
統的強力競爭者，即使他一再拒絕擔任2020的總統候選人。

: ions who have long dominated local politics: the Kuomintang, which sees itself

: ng work on a 40,000-seat arena intended for last year’s University Games.
: “They support me because I am their only hope,” he said. “I am not perfect,
: but they put their hope in me because they are desperate.”
柯說他的政治成功歸因於，成為長期主導台灣政治的藍綠外的替代品。
