在一月六日蘋果日報的投書中，
FAPA會長郭正光嘉許蔡英文總統過去三年外交國防政策上的重大突破。
她對台灣國際地位提升的努力替台獨立下無可取代的基礎，
使她成為台獨的戰友而非敵人。
提及美國和中國一同譴責台灣為麻煩製造者的不幸過往，
郭正光表示：「應對中國的威脅，我們必須考慮到更為複雜的國際關係，
而不僅是國內政治。」
台灣不能失去友好國家的支持，不然台灣作為主權獨立國家的現狀會受到侵蝕。
郭正光總結時呼籲所有支持台灣獨立的人應團結起來：「我們因團結而起，分裂而墜。」
In his January 6 Apple Daily News article,
FAPA President Mike Kuo lauds President Tsai Ing-wen’s groundbreaking
foreign and defense policy achievement in the past three years.
Her efforts in advancing Taiwan’s standing in the world lay the
indispensable foundation for Taiwan Independence movement,
thus making her a reliable partner instead of an enemy of us.
Recalling the unfortunate past when the U.S. and China together
labelled Taiwan as a troublemaker,
Mike Kuo points out: “Facing China’s annexation threats,
we are threading through complex international relations instead of mere
domestic politics.” To counter China’s aggression, Taiwan cannot lose t
he support from our partners and allies.
Or, the status quo in which Taiwan is an independent country would be
undermined.
Mike Kuo concludes by calling for unity among all the Taiwanese people
who support Taiwan Independence: “United we stand, divided we fall.”
