"Was" - a simple verb (word?). Merely a part of speech used in every day life.
「曾經」，是一個簡單的字，幾乎每天日常生活對話都在使用。
But it's not that simple for us. Because now the everyday Ukrainians simply
cannot say "was" without bursting into tears.
但現在對我們來說不再是簡單的字，因為現在每一天烏克蘭人無法說出「曾經」卻不爆哭
This was my home.
This was my friend.
This was my dog.
This was my car.
This was my job.
And this was my father.
And this was my daughter.
The millions and millions of flesh wounds are bleeding with that "Was".
就在說著這些「曾經」的同時，有數以百萬的傷口正在淌血
Russia has drowned Ukraine in tears and blood and children's corpses.
俄羅斯把烏克蘭人淹沒在眼淚、鮮血還有兒童屍體中
But there is one thing Russia doesn't understand (沒聽清楚).
"Was" is a word that describes his life.
And we, Ukraines, already know what will come next
