The Badminton World Federation (BWF) can confirm it is reviewing events that t
ranspired during the HYLO Open 2022 men’s singles final between Chou Tien Che
n (TPE) and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (INA) on Sunday 6 November.
BWF trusts that all umpires endeavour to make the best call he or she can make
in real time.
However, even if a mistake occasionally occurs, a referee cannot overrule the
decision of an umpire on a point of fact and an umpire’s decision stands as f
inal.
