An oft-repeated legend stirs in the desert of Shurima. The swirling sands
carry rumors of the ancient emperor Azir, somehow returned.
蘇瑞瑪沙漠裡流傳著一個時常被提及的傳說。飛揚的黃沙喃喃著捎來一個傳聞──遠古的
帝王，阿祈爾，已經因為不明的緣故而重獲新生。
Once a mortal man blinded by his own hubris, Azir has recently returned as an
Ascended being with unmatched dominion over the burning sands. He seeks to
restore Shurima to its former glory, but some dispute his right to rule them.
Azir's power, however, is undeniable.
儘管也曾只是被自己的傲慢所蒙蔽的凡人，但阿祈爾如今已經以王的身分歸來，並挾帶著
無與倫比的力量支配著炙熱的黃沙。他打算復興蘇瑞瑪、重建他往昔的榮耀，不過有些人

註：阿祈爾的設定被認為是源自於埃及的不死鳥神──「貝努鳥」。
貝努鳥被認為是太陽神、亞圖姆*1或歐西里斯的靈魂，
其頭銜之一「上昇者」（Ascending One）中的單字Ascend，
在這次的改版中被廣泛使用，原意為「上升、登基」。
個人的翻譯中盡量譯為「王者」和「賢者」的意思。
*1 亞圖姆是埃及神話中的創世神，有看遊戲王的讀者應該會覺得這名字非常熟悉。

Relations（人物關係）
Azir and Xerath are mortal enemies, evidenced by the significant number
of taunts that can be exchanged between them. What event occurred in the past
to cause this mutual dislike, however, has not been revealed.
阿祈爾和齊勒斯是死對頭，從他們對彼此的嘲諷就顯而易見。（註）
不過他們過去到底發生什麼事才令他們這樣彼此仇視，目前尚未揭曉。
Cassiopeia regards Azir as a useful ally. It is not known whether this
view is returned in kind or not.
蛇女認為阿祈爾是個有用的夥伴。至於這個看法究竟是否懷抱善意還不得而知。
Azir has an antagonistic relationship with Sivir.
阿祈爾和希維爾也是敵對關係。
Azir does not respect Renekton's actions.
阿祈爾並不認同雷尼克頓的行徑。
