According to a New York Post report, the Tigers' Delmon Young was arrested
early Friday morning in New York after he allegedly assaulted a man in front
of a Midtown hotel. The Post cites police sources in the story.
The Post reports that police were called to the hotel around 2:40 a.m. after
Young pushed a man to the ground. Young was "highly intoxicated," according
to the report, and had to be taken to the hospital to sober up before being
moved to a police precinct.
The victim suffered scratches on his arm and was treated at the scene,
according to the Post report, and Young was charged with assault in the third
degree and is in custody while awaiting arraignment.
Young, who was acquired from the Twins in a trade last August, is hitting
.242, with one homer and five runs batted in this season
