Pablo Sandoval Under Investigation For Alleged Sexual Assault

Pablo Sandoval is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault.
Jun 2, 2012 - San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval is under
investigation by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department for an incident
that allegedly occurred early on Friday morning, according to a report at CSN
Bay Area. Sandoval did not report to AT&T Park on Friday while he was
voluntarily speaking to police.

Sandoval's attorney spoke to CSN Bay Area about the alleged incident and
questioning by police.
"On Friday, June 1, Pablo Sandoval voluntarily met with the Santa Cruz County
Sheriff's Department related to a consensual, personal relationship of a
sexual nature that took place on that day. Pablo fully cooperated with the
Sheriff's Department out of respect for the process. We have no further
comment at this time."

Sandoval has not been charged and the police are continuing to investigate.
The woman in question reportedly told authorities that she was too
intoxicated to consent to sex with Sandoval and submitted to a sexual assault
forensic evidence kit at a hospital.

The alleged incident occurred at a resort in Santa Cruz. Sandoval is
currently on the disabled list and has not played for the Giants since May 2.
He was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose on Saturday.
