Cleveland Indians sign free agent infielder Mark Reynolds to 1-year contract
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Indians have signed free agent infielder Mark
Reynolds to a one-year Major League contract, the club announced Tuesday.
The Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reported the agreement on Dec. 9.
Reynolds, a 29-year-old right-hander, spent the past two seasons with the
Baltimore Orioles. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Indians designated
infielder Russ Canzler for assignment.
Reynolds played first base and posted an on-base percentage of .335 with 26
doubles, 23 home runs and 69 RBI in 135 games in 2012. He batted .221, going
101 of 457.
