Dominican righthander Mayky Perez, the No. 19 international prospect for July 2,
has to agreed to terms with the Padres for $634,000.
Perez, 16, stands out for his size (6-foot-5, 195 pounds) and arm strength,
as he’s capable of running his fastball up to the low-90s. He already has
experience pitching in Petco Park having played in the Perfect Game
All-America Classic last August. Perez pitched in the Dominican Prospect
League and trains with Adan Ramirez.
