2014-09-10 12:22:30Jeff Samardzija is open to re-signing with the Cubs in 2016
Two months ago the Cubs traded Jeff Samardzija to the A’s as part of their
ongoing rebuilding effort, but by the time the 29-year-old right-hander is
eligible for free agency after next season Chicago might be in the market for
front-of-the-rotation pitching help.
So would Samarzija consider returning to the Cubs? He would, or at least that
’s what he told Patrick Mooney of CSNChicago.com:
That is absolutely something that is on my list. I love it here. I’ve spent
my whole life here. For sure, [Chicago] will definitely be something that is
on my list. It will be an exciting time. But like I said, there’s still a
lot of work to be done to get to that spot.
