Myers to Padres deal 'said to be very close'
Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reports that there is "significant optimism" a
potential trade sending Wil Myers to the Padres will get done and is "very
close" to being completed.
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported earlier Tuesday that it's
unlikely a deal would be consummated before the end of the day, but it does
appear that something could be wrapped up relatively quickly. It's not clear
who exactly would be involved in the deal, but players mentioned from San
Diego's side include Austin Hedges, Matt Wisler, Burch Smith and R.J.
Alvarez. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal first reported that the two sides were
talking.
