FOXSports.com reported on Tuesday that the Halos have been engaged in "ongoing
conversations" with the representatives for free-agent left fielder Justin Up
ton. Meanwhile, another option for the team would be signing Jason Heyward top
lay right field, while shifting Kole Calhoun to the opposite corner.
Upton, 28, has posted an .832 OPS over the past seven seasons, averaging 25 ho
me runs. Heyward is two years younger and hit .293/.359/.439 with 13 homers an
d 23 steals for the Cardinals this year.
