Twins to place Danny Santana on DL, recall Byron Buxton
The Minnesota Twins will place Danny Santana on the disabled list and recall
Byron Buxton, the team announced Monday.
Santana, who has a strained left hamstring, will head to the disabled list
for the second time this season. Buxton, the team’s top prospect, will
replace Santana on the roster from Triple A Rochester.
Santana, 25, is batting .258 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 34 appearances
this season. The 22-year-old Buxton has made 63 MLB appearances over two
seasons, and has batted just .156 with two RBIs during that stretch. He is
batting .333 in Triple A this year.
