The Phillies remain steadfast in their refusal to deal top prospect
Sixto Sanchez (MLB's No. 23 overall prospect, per MLB Pipeline) but are
willing to trade from their starting pitching depth at all levels of the
Minors, according to Rosenthal, who notes that the Orioles have ramped up
their background work on the Phillies' farm system and are interested in
Adonis Medina (Philadelphia's No. 2 prospect, No. 74 overall).
When the Orioles recently played the Phils, Machado said of the club, per NBC
Sports Philadelphia: "They're a good team over there. I know that they're
playing great baseball."
The Phillies would likely want Machado to remain at shortstop, though many
other interested clubs would likely want to acquire Machado to play third,
such as the Yankees, Dodgers, Braves and Red Sox
