Astros' Marwin Gonzalez: Called up from minors
The Astros selected Gonzalez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Daniel
Guerrero of MLB.com reports.
Gonzalez went 2-for-7 with a double in his two games with Sugar Land, and now
he joins the Astros as depth across the infield and outfield. The veteran was
hapless offensively for the Red Sox this season, hitting .202/.281/.285 in
271 plate appearances, so he doesn't figure to get frequent starting
opportunities with Houston.
