ricochet which gave Stoke the advantage.

Caught napping for the goal a day after Mourinho suggested he was the best
right-back in football. Inconsistent in attack.

Seems to close his eyes and hopes the ball hits his head. Outjumped by Peter
Crouch for Stoke's opener, he has regressed this season.

Appeared to be pining for Marcos Rojo to head down from the stands and join
him on the pitch. A second successive shaky performance.

Much more proactive in attack than Matteo Darmian from left-back and teed up
the odd opening from set-pieces.

Active but ineffectual. Did not supplement the attack with any real threat on
a nondescript afternoon for the Basque.

Showed more purpose than most during a listless first 30 minutes from United.
Tested Stoke goalie Lee Grant a handful of times. Sacrificed to improve
fluidity.

Began fecklessly but finished the first-half strongly and was unfortunate not
to equalise. Still under-performed.
Mata - 3 (4.6)
Distracted by his luckless own goal, missed an open goal and never influenced
the game. Lucky not to come off first.
Mkhitaryan - 5 (6.34)
Seemed fazed initially but occasionally came alive whenever he moved
centrally. Still subdued compared to his dazzling December.
Ibrahimovic - 5 (6.07)
Spurned an excellent chance to equalise quickly and, like Mata, it seemed to
affect his decision-making later on.
