poked it through his legs. Unusually flaky.

Endeavoured to instigate United attacks but had little success down the right
flank. Had to come off with an injury.
Eric Bailly - 7
Romelu Lukaku preyed on Marcos Rojo, which was a compliment to the Ivory
Coast defender. Played the ball out promptly.
Marcos Rojo - 4
Easily outmuscled by Jagielka for the opener and appeared to wait for De Gea
to come for the ball. Was targeted by Lukaku.
Daley Blind - 3
Got forward plenty and was denied by Joel Robles from a well struck
free-kick. Too often his delivery was dismal, though.
Ander Herrera - 7
United's most ebullient player. Eager to get involved and played at an
acceptable pace, in contrast to some of his teammates.
Michael Carrick - 4
Fortunate to start after his weekend performance, other dubious selections
and an unsuitable formation contributed to another listless showing.
Marouane Fellaini - 4
Supplemented by an ill-suited supporting cast, he was so ineffective in
midfield Mourinho used him as a battering ram for the second-half.
Marcus Rashford - 5
Worked harder than he did at the weekend but that unpredictability he offered
last season has gone missing. Not a goal threat at the moment.
Jesse Lingard - 4
Energetic but his positioning on the wing was never likely to trouble
Everton. Should have started in the three-man midfield instead.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 5
Spurned a one-on-one with the game goalless, when he inexplicably looked up
to play in a teammate. Dropped too deep too often. Yet still scored.
