way and leave Arsenal shell-shocked. Had his work cut out but game
throughout.

The calmest of the three centre halves for the second time this week. Coped
well amid wave after wave of Arsenal attack.
Chris Smalling - 6
Clumsy at times and his insecure defending spread anxiety through the United
backline as Arsenal threatened regularly. Solid last half-hour.

Seemed to be overwhelmed by the pace of the game and maybe wouldn't have
started if Eric Bailly or Phil Jones were available. Culpable for Lacazette's
goal.

Like Valencia, he was over-worked down his flank but he showed his experience
when he brilliantly retreated to clear Mesut Ozil's free-kick off the line.

Soldiered on while carrying an injury and weathered Arsenal's adventurousness
commendably to let Paul Pogba off the leash.

Another influential performance from United's most important player. Sparked
attacks and calmed the play down regularly. Sullied display with daft red
card.

Engineered the move which he finished; pressing, running and finishing
flawlessly to extend United's advantage inside 10 minutes. Showed great
composure for the second.

Jose Mourinho geed him up moments before he showed the calmness to play in
Anthony Martial, who assisted Lingard's strike. Quiet in second-half.

His reverse pass for Lingard was majestic and Arsenal seemed to fret whenever
he received the ball. Could have used it better.
