Sergio Romero and Phil Jones poor
Man Utd vs Derby ended in a penalty shootout defeat for Jose Mourinho in the
Carabao Cup as Sergio Romero was sent off at Old Trafford.
Sergio Romero - 4
Saved well from Mason Bennett just three minutes after United took the lead
but culpable for Harry Wilson's equaliser and then sent off.
Diogo Dalot - 7
Eager in attack but a little shaky at times in defence. Mourinho warned him
the test would differ from his European debut and it showed. Assisted
Fellaini, though.
Eric Bailly - 5
Haphazard at times and had United fans on tenterhooks with his erratic
control. Not a convincing enough display to suggest he will supplant Victor
Lindelof.
Phil Jones - 3 (英格蘭人不意外了
Recovered from an early injury and got valuable minutes in only his second
start of the campaign. Never looked secure and his positioning was poor.
Missed penalty.
Ashley Young - 6
A threat in attack and hit the post directly from a corner. Skippered United
in Antonio Valencia's absence.
Nemanja Matic - 5
A typically stable and unspectacular performance but Matic was guilty of
being pedestrian in possession at times.
Ander Herrera - 6
Breached Derby a couple of times with his incisive passing in a more
attack-minded role. Much more of an asset when playing advanced.
Juan Mata - 7
Struck an elegant opener and should have scored again before the quarter-hour
mark. Almost always a reliable performer against such sides.
Jesse Lingard - 6
Deftly assisted Mata and was bright in the number 10 role behind Romelu
Lukaku. Could have been sharper with his passing at times.
Anthony Martial - 7
Made it a goal and an assist in his last two starts and might have played his
way into the XI at West Ham on Saturday.
Romelu Lukaku - 6
Squandered a header and then a one-on-one either side of Mata's strike. He is
missing more than he is scoring so far this season. Hit the post. 6

Fred - 6
Scored a fine penalty.
Marouane Fellaini - 7
Scored fantastic header.
Lee Grant - 6
Fine save.
