the Ducati rider has hopes for a strong result at round nine

This week's Grand Prix in Germany marks the 165th race for Ducati Team rider
Jorge Lorenzo in the MotoGP™ category. Lorenzo has finished runner-up four
times between 2009 and 2012 at the Sachsenring circuit, however, a German GP
is one of the few that the Spaniard has not yet managed to win.

The Sachsenring's unusual corners, almost all left-handers, accompanied by
numerous uphill and downhill sections, provides riders with a technical
track; usually accompanied on race weekend by challenging weather conditions.
Lorenzo currently sits eighth in the championship on 60 points - only two
points behind OCTO Pramac Racing's Danilo Petrucci.

Although Lorenzo has so far only had one podium in 2017, with a third placing
at Jerez, he debuts on a Ducati this season after almost a decade with Yamaha
in the premier-class.

Jorge Lorenzo: "After a difficult weekend at Assen, I can't wait to arrive
at the Sachsenring to resume the positive trend we demonstrated in the races
before the Dutch GP. The German track has a new surface and I'm pleased
about that because for sure it'll help us have better grip. We will have to
see immediately what the tyre wear is like on the new surface, but in any
case the most important thing for me will be to find a positive feeling with
the bike again and get back to being competitive."
