As the Houston Rockets move to the cusp of trading disgruntled center Omer
Asik, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland and Philadelphia have emerged as the
frontrunners to land him, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Another team, deemed a "wildcard" by one league source, has teetered on the
edge of negotiations and could become more seriously involved before the
Rockets' self-imposed deadline of Friday to complete a deal.
Houston is pursuing a power forward in a deal, with candidates including
Atlanta's Paul Millsap, Philadelphia's Thaddeus Young, Boston's Brandon Bass
and Jeff Green and Cleveland's Anderson Varejao.
Houston general manager Daryl Morey wants a deal done before the end of the
week, giving the Rockets the flexibility to trade whomever is acquired in a
deal before the Feb. 21 trade deadline.
The structure of most of Houston's trade scenarios are three-way deals,
league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Asik has been demanding a trade since the Rockets signed free agent Dwight
Howard in July, and has become an increasingly unhappy presence within the
franchise's locker room.
Houston coach Kevin McHale abandoned a short-lived attempt at starting Asik
and Howard on the Rockets' frontline. Asik is considered a starting-caliber
NBA center and is especially dominant on the defensive end. He has two years
and $20 million left on his deal.

與之前的報導一樣，Wojnarowski同樣確認火箭的交易很有可能會是一筆三方交易。
此外，在今天早些時候，ESPN的記者Marc Stein在推特上透露：“那些Rondo去國王的流
言已經被徹底否定了……但我仍然聽說塞爾提克處於Asik交易流言的中心。 隨著12月19
日(台灣時間20日)的臨近， 越來越多的人預測火箭會和塞爾提克以及76人達成三方交易
。”
本賽季至今，27歲的土耳其中鋒Asik共打了17場比賽，場均出場18.3分鐘，貢獻4.4分
6.8籃板。
