這回，Trey Burke 在 NCAA 頂尖聯盟中爆炸性的表現不只是球迷注意到了，NBA 各隊也
都看在眼裡。不到一年的時間，當年那個排名控球後衛第 26 名的小夥子，一路攀升進入
了 NBA 2012 選秀可能區。
Michigan 在 NCAA 錦標賽失利後，應接不暇的問題接踵而來，但這時的 Trey 選擇閃躲
。
“I’m not really thinking about [the NBA draft]. I’m so disappointed in the
way we lost, it’s not really in my mind right now. If it comes, it comes. You
’ve just got to move on, man. It definitely hurts. The only thing on my mind
is losing that game.”

距離 NCAA 球員資格保留或撤銷的期限，整整還有三週的時間。面對接連失去隊上的靈魂
控球的可能，這短短的三週對 Michigan 球迷來說度日如年。但反過來說，對一支過去少
有 NBA 球員的大學球隊，這又何嘗不是一個進步的象徵？
另一方面，季外新生的招募也正如火如荼地進行，總教練 John Beilein 迎來 Mitch
McGary、Glenn Robinson III，填補了 Michigan 最需要、也是 Beilein 進攻體系十分
倚賴的鋒線缺口。但是這時的 Trey，那個永遠追求挑戰的鬥魂，看見了自小就朝思暮想
的 NBA 大門。

Three weeks after the first match-up it was Burke’s time to shine as No. 6
Ohio State visited Michigan. The Wolverines controlled the game from the
outset en route to a 56-51 victory — a split in the regular-season series
that proved to be very valuable as the end of the conference season drew
near. Burke finished the game with 17 points and five assists, including four
points in the final 90 seconds to keep Michigan comfortably ahead. It was a
signature win on the biggest stage of the season, and one that kept Michigan
in the hunt for a share of the conference title. It was also abundantly clear
whose team it was: Trey Burke’s.

第六種子 Ohio Stat 作客 Michigan，本季的第二次交手，這回輪到 Burke 大放光芒。
Michigan 一路領先以 56-51 取勝，隨著聯盟賽即將到來，拿下價值連城的例行賽對戰
勝利。Burke 砍下17分、遞出5助攻，其中包含比賽最後的90內的4分保持 Michigan 的安
全分差。這是本季非常重要的一場勝利，確保了 Michigan 對聯盟冠軍的競爭力，也充分
地展現了這是一支「Try Burke 的球隊」。
是的，NBA 球探們這次是真的注意到他了，說 Trey 是一個吸引人的新秀，絕對是樂透區
的人選，可惜還有但書，「如果他再高三吋的話」。即便如此，這依然是 Michigan 球迷
抖得要死的三個禮拜。一堆 「Trey 又得到某某建議」的謠言滿天飛，球迷只能在討論區
取暖，試圖找出如果 Trey 真的棄學後的球隊走向。
眾說紛紜的亂象在四月初突然因為一張照片停了下來，一張 Trey 宿舍房間的照片，所有
東西都已經打包好裝進一個又一個的黑色袋子中。他就要走了，Michigan 球迷又被丟下
了，每次都在球隊好像要飛天的時候，厄運又再度降臨。

而這場驚魂結束得跟開始得一樣快。四天後，Trey 宣布留校。
終日乾乾
隨著留不留校的問題過去，Trey 接下來要面對的是更重大的難題：在大爆發的大一球季
之後，他是否能夠再進步？天空是他的極限，但墜落令人害怕，他知道還有很多缺失需要
他自己克服。投射乾旱算是好解決，不斷地練投就對了；那個因為身材因素而令人折騰的
Pick & Roll 才是難處。
防守方為了降低 Pick & Roll 速度以及阻擋他破壞禁區所端出的策略，就是他必須努力
去破解的難題。參加完暑假 Chicago 技巧訓練營 的 Trey 也對這點侃侃而談：
"I had to learn how to read the way teams were guarding me and then adjust to
score and get my teammates involved. I had to get in the film room and learn
all the reads off pick-and-rolls and it has really paid off for me.”
「我必須要學會閱讀對方的針對防守、據此調整得分手段以及帶起隊友參與進來。我必須
在影片室裡學會閱讀所有針對 Pick & Roll 的防守，而這真的讓我獲益良多。」

Trey 了解這支球隊將會交到他手上。而過去一年他都是 Michigan 的進攻核心，人人都
有他的整整一年影片可以研究，再也沒有打對方措手不及的機會了。同一個孩子，一年以
前甚至在同一個 Big Ten 的中等球隊還不保證先發，搖身一變成了 NCAA 的風雲人物，
引領著球隊在一年後以 top-five 的地位展開大二的嶄新球季。
