The Brooklyn Nets recently traded forward Andrei Kirilenko to the
Philadelphia 76ers, but the Russian star has refused to show up to work.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Kirilenko and his
representatives are resisting the Sixers' request that he report to the team
and prepare to start playing in games.

The trade that sent Kirilenko, guard Jorge Gutierrez, a second-round
draft pick in 2020 and cash to Philadelphia for forward Brandon Davies was
supposed to grant the Sixers the right to swap second-rounders in 2018. It was
believed that the Sixers would then waive Kirilenko and make him a free agent.
However, recent comments from general manager Sam Hinkie are that there are no
immediate plans to cut him loose.

Undoubtedly, the Sixers want to get Kirilenko back on the court so they
can move him by the February trade deadline, but Kirilenko wants the balance of
the $3.3 million owed to him this season and the freedom to sign elsewhere.

Kirilenko, 33, has played in just seven games this season, and none
since Nov. 13, when he stepped away from the team citing personal reasons that

Kirilenko also has played for the Timberwolves and is averaging 11.8
