Celtics coach Brad Stevens, in the event of turbulence, stood mere feet from official Scott Wall with four seconds left in overtime Saturday night and Boston trailing by 1 point with the ball.
The moment Marcus Smart didn’t feed Evan Turner, who was smothered by Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan, and instead lobbed to Jared Sullinger, who had not scored a point since Feb. 11, Stevens calmly said “timeout” to Wall. He did so despite the raucous Air Canada Centre crowd and Sullinger in the midst of attempting the potential winning shot.
Only 1.4 seconds expired off the clock, leaving 2.6 for Stevens to come up with something more inventive.

So he removed Sullinger and Jae Crowder from the game, inserting Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley. He then instructed Thomas to stand in the backcourt near the Raptors’ 3-point line while Turner became the inbounder.
A critical and perhaps ignored part of what became the winning play was Thomas sprinting to his right first, duping equally speedy Lou Williams, who followed him like a defensive back. Thomas then shifted left and caught Turner’s pass in stride, took one hard dribble, two steps, and then was met by Williams about 6 feet from the basket.
Depending on whom you ask, Thomas was either fouled or stripped by Williams. Depending on whom you ask again, Thomas either astutely underhanded a pass to Smart, who darted in from the baseline, or flailed to draw a foul only to have Smart catch the fumble for the winning layup.

“He asked me what I thought, ‘You have this guy in backcourt, how are they going to guard this?’ꠠsaid Ainge, a former NBA coach. “以ow would you guard this Danny if you saw this happening?’ That’s the first time I’ve seen him do it this year, but he was thinking if it were Rondo or someone else, [maybe] Phil Pressey, because we didn’t have Isaiah at the time.”

When asked about the timeout, Thomas said: “It’s unusual, but I think he had seen the play was not going to work. He just had a quick mind to call a timeout. He’s got so many plays in his playbook — he just drew up a great play. It worked. I’m just happy it worked.”
關於1.4秒兩度喊暫停，Thomas賽後表示:
