我個人對於把 moratorium 翻譯成「球員交易保護期」有點意見，也因此很多板友會
開始覺得這個 July moratorium 是為了球員而特別設置的，但並非如此，先來看這
個名詞的解釋是什麼：
It is a period during the month of July in which teams may not sign most free
agents or make trades. Free agents become free on July 1, but the salary cap
is not set until the league's audit is completed later in the month. Teams
and players must wait for the salary cap to be set before trades and most
free agent signings can commence. Teams may negotiate with free agents
beginning July 1, but they have to wait until the moratorium ends before
signing a contract.
簡單來說，合約結束的球員是在七月一號或得真正的自由，雖然你已經自由了，但是由於
聯盟在薪資上限的計算需要一些時間，所以球團跟球員都必須等到這個數字出來之後才會
去做簽約跟交易的動作，所以這算是保護球團跟球員雙方的暫停期間，只是，在這個期間
就會是灰色地帶，球員自由了，我球團總可以找你（的經紀人）聊聊吧，可以！但僅限於
聊聊，所以常常會看到某某球員和某球團達成頂薪共識，而確切數字要等聯盟公布的薪資
上限後再行確定，而從媒體上看到的xxM/xY都是記者的推測或是經紀人大概給記者一個概
略的數字而已。
既然如此，那不如下面二擇一做修正：（１）開市延後到確切薪資上限計算完成，並且
開市即開放簽約。（２）薪資上限計算趕在七月一日以前完成，一樣開市即開放簽約。
簡而言之，兩者皆必須取消 July moratorium 這灰色地帶且進行開市即開放簽約的動作
