The Miami Heat quietly announced Friday that backup point guard Beno Udrih
successfully underwent surgery to repair a torn plantar plate on his right
foot.

The one hour, 45-minute procedure was performed by Heat team physician Dr.
Harlan Selesnick and Dr. Thomas San Giovanni at Miami Orthopedics & Sports
Medicine Institute at Doctors Hospital.

Udrih is expected to miss at least three months after injuring his foot
during Monday's win over the Indiana Pacers.

"I felt a really sharp pain in my big toe," Udrih later explained to Ethan
Skolnick of the Miami Herald. "It happened in the first couple of minutes of
the first quarter. Then I came back out and then back in. It was just getting
more sore. Then by halftime, when we were back in the locker room, I couldn't
stop over my toe. The pain was really bad, but the x-ray didn't show
anything, so I was positive about it. Then the next day showed what it was.

Mario Chalmers and James Ennis on Nov. 10, he played in 36 games (with five
starts) averaging 4.4 points, 2.5 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 16.3 minutes
while shooting 43.4 percent from the field.
