In the third quarter of the San Antonio Spurs - Golden State Warriors Western Conference Finals Game 1, Zaza Pachulia contested a Kawhi Leonard shot only to place his foot under the feet of Kawhi as he landed on the court.
The result was Leonard twisting his already hurt ankle and having to be pulled from the game. The Warriors would capitalize on a Kawhi-less Spurs team and erase a 25-point deficit and win 113-111.
Whether it was dirty or not, after the game Zaza says it is "stupid" to think he was trying to hurt Kawhi intentionally.
The Warriors went on a 16-0 run to close the gap in the second half and halted any upset win by the Spurs.
This incident by Zaza may have decided the WCF if Leonard is unable to come back to the floor. The Spurs need No. 2 on the court to have any shot at advancing to the NBA Finals.
This move by Zaza is a big no-no among players and now Kawhi is hurt and his status for Game 2 is unknown.
