Steph Curry on the MVP: 'I feel like I’m better than I was 3 years ago'

If you ask most NBA fans, players, coaches and pundits, this year’s MVP race
is being led by Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo who has led the Bucks to
the best record in the NBA through the All-Star break and James Harden, who
has scored at least 30 points in each of his last 31 games.

Both men are deserving and there wouldn’t be any qualms around the league if
they both continued playing at the level they’re at now and won the award.
However, one name that hasn’t been in those discussions since the first
month of the league is Steph Curry, who is having a fantastic season in his
own right.

Curry is averaging 28.6 points per game while shooting better than 44 percent
from deep on 12 attempts per game. In nearly any other season, these are the
kind of numbers that would afford one an MVP award, and Curry doesn’t see
why he can’t win it again, according to Yahoo Sports.

“Everybody can come up with certain narratives,” he says on the topic of
the MVP award. “It’s clear who the best guys in the league are, who’s
helping the team win. Comparing numbers and styles … beauty is in the eye of
the beholder. I don’t know why I can’t [win again], but I feel confident in
knowing what type of player I am. I’m sure KD would say the same thing.”

expand your game. Experience, more maturity and being challenged in new ways
definitely helps.”
